Roman Baths, Bath

The city of Bath in North Somerset was founded around hot springs with supposedly medicinal properties. First built by the local Celts and dedicated to their goddess Sulis, they were greatly expanded and consecrated to Minerva when the Romans conquered the area. The building has been modified on many occasion since then, and the structure that surrounds the bathing pools today is largely Victorian. Nevertheless, I think the Romans would be proud of what the Victorians did with their baths!
