Eicke's House, Einbeck

Eicke's House in Einbeck is probably the most intricately decorated timber-framed house in existence, which makes me wish I approached in in better weather. But oh well, this is North Germany - even less predictable than England in terms of weather ;D The house was built by Eicke, a wealthy Einbeck merchant, in early 17th century in Renaissance style. In accordance with the style's rules, the house was decorated with numerous allegorical figures, personifying planets, the Apostles, the five senses, the Muses, the virtues, the sciences, and more! Each one of these figures was masterfully carved from wood, making the house a masterpiece of wood carving.
